After a systematic start to the season Plan A morphed to B to C and then folded up and went to bed! What should have been a fantastic interstate road trip with super coach & friend Amanda Ross to Camden CIC1* came unstuck with a stomach bug (me) & 2 run outs (trooper) in the spooky show jumping. All that way and no xc day!
We re-grouped to scale back to pre novice for Sydney International Horse Trials but the worst possible tragedy occurred to a young rider and we struck off for home without a xc outing again. It was a long and sombre drive home (in a rental car, having blown my car up en route).
With no towing vehicle, schooling, lessons and competitions have become impossible . We have also moved house from our farm to a rambling Victorian in north side Melbourne, so the office has largely relocated to the front seat of the car. The bed has been in a tent in the backyard so tempers have been frayed! This week the renovations are finally complete and I will have the most beautiful home possible. Now I just have to squeeze the horses into the backyard....and get back with a new Plan A for next season
Here's how it looked in our last pre-novice
